High-margin fluid flushes and additives that rarely add value to your vehicle’s life.

Your owner’s manual is the maintenance schedule. Anything the service advisor recommends that is not in it needs a reason. Frequent offenders: engine flushes, fuel-system cleanings, throttle-body services, ‘lifetime’ fluid changes on a schedule the manufacturer does not require, nitrogen in tires, and cabin filters at triple the parts-store price.

Legitimate and worth paying for: brake fluid every 2–3 years, coolant and transmission service at the manual’s interval, differential and transfer-case fluid on AWD vehicles that tow or see snow, and anything tied to a recall or technical service bulletin (those are free or discounted; ask).

Upload the dealer’s worksheet or buyer’s order and a FMYCAR advisor validates every line (price, trade, fees, rate, term, add-ons) and tells you exactly what to fix before you sign. Typical clients find $800–$3,000 of markup, fees and products they didn’t need; typical, not guaranteed, and if the deal is clean we tell you to sign.
