Bingo card for your next dealership visit.
Free printable card. “Let me talk to my manager,” nitrogen, the four-square. Five in a row and you leave.
Car buying is stressful. Car buying with a bingo card is a sport. Print this, bring a friend, and mark every square the dealership hands you. Five in a row and you win the right to say “I need to think about it” and leave.

How to play
Print the card (or open it on your phone and tap squares). Every time something on the card happens, mark it. Get five in a row, column or diagonal and you have officially seen the whole playbook. The free square is yours the moment you ask for the out-the-door price, because that’s the move that ends most of these games before they start.
Five in a row and you win the right to say “I need to think about it” and leave.
What each square is telling you
- “What payment are you looking for?” / Payment quoted, price not / Someone says “84 months”
- You’re being steered to the payment. Ask for the out-the-door price. See four-square.
- Your keys vanish for the appraisal / Trade offer “because of the market”
- Normal, if you get them back. Have two written trade offers already. See trade-in help.
- “Let me talk to my manager” / Manager comes over to “say hi”
- Pacing. Stay calm, keep your number. See dealer-speak translated.
- Nitrogen / VIN etching / Paint protection / “Market adjustment”
- Addendum profit. Ask for it removed or offset in the price. See dealer add-ons.
- Credit app before a price / “Let’s see what you qualify for”
- Price first, credit last. Bring a pre-approval. See finance help.
- “Only good today” / “Another buyer is looking at it” / “What would it take today?”
- Urgency. A real price survives a night’s sleep. Ask for it in writing.
- Extended warranty menu / GAP “for peace of mind” / “The bank requires it”
- All optional. Decide before you walk into F&I. See the 7 stages of grief.
- Hour 4 begins
- Your cue to stand up. See how to leave a dealership.
Why a bingo card works (for real)
Naming a tactic takes its power away. When you’re mentally checking a box instead of feeling pressure, you’re calmer, slower and much harder to rush. That’s the entire point of FMYCAR: you should recognize every move before it happens, whether you’re buying, trading or leasing.
When you’re checking a box instead of feeling the pressure, the pressure stops working.
House rules
- Bring a friend. One person talks, one person marks squares. The marker also gets to say “we should go” at hour three.
- A square counts only once, no matter how many times you hear “let me talk to my manager.” (You’d win in ten minutes otherwise.)
- No calling bingo out loud while the salesperson is at the desk. Respect the craft.
- Prize: you leave with the numbers in writing and compare them at home. That’s the real win.
- Bonus round: hand the card to the finance manager after you sign. Bold. Not recommended.
Lease edition, bonus squares
Leasing has its own card. Listen for “the money factor is just a number, don’t worry about it” (it’s the lease interest rate, and it can be marked up), “we can roll your negative equity into the lease,” a surprise acquisition fee, and “mileage doesn’t really matter.” Each one has a definition in the glossary, and the lease strategy page shows how to compare two lease quotes like a pro. Same rule as the main card: if it shows up, it goes in writing.
OK, jokes over. The actually-useful part
Win the game before you walk in
- Get the out-the-door price in writing from three dealers (that’s the free square).
- Bring a pre-approval and two written trade offers.
- Decide your F&I “no” list at home; the Hub previews cover each product.
- Look up any unfamiliar term in the car-buying glossary.
- If you got bingo and still want the car, a $249 Deal Review checks the worksheet before you sign.
